At BC 1 Call, safe digging is about more than protecting underground infrastructure; it’s also about the people, communities, and workers above it.
Today, we are proud to announce our support of a special initiative that connects our free BC 1 Call locate requests in Tumbler Ridge and Chetwynd to community well-being. With every free BC 1 Call locate request placed in Tumbler Ridge and Chetwynd, the associated 2026 notification fees of these two long-time BC 1 Call members will directly fund programs and opportunities for Indigenous and local youth led by The Hope Truck team.
What is The Hope Truck Initiative?
The Hope Truck Fundraiser is a collaborative initiative dedicated to supporting youth and advancing reconciliation in the communities of West Moberly, Saulteau, Chetwynd, and Tumbler Ridge. This initiative directly funds programs and opportunities for Indigenous and local youth, creating a lasting impact.
From September 2026 to March 2027, The Hope Truck, a 793-haul truck at Willow Creek Mine, has been transformed into a moving beacon of reconciliation and community support. Its orange-painted box will serve as both a rolling fundraiser and a powerful symbol of awareness and unity.
Every load contributes to The Hope Truck Charity Box Program, directing funds back into the communities where we live and work.
