SYSTEM UPDATE ALERT - Rollout of Service Enhancement Promote Ticket functionality (Design/Planning Request to Ground Disturbance Locate Request)

Planned Effective Date:  June 28, 2021

Before You Dig Partners (Western Canada One Call Organizations) are releasing a new feature called "Promote". This feature will allow users to "Promote" an existing Planning and Design request into a Locate Request ticket (or tickets) when they are ready to begin ground disturbance. (i.e for construction)

Planning and Design requests can be "Promoted" by the original requestor or by the contractor hired to do the ground disturbance. The Promote Locate Request(s) will reflect the contact information of the person requesting the locate on behalf of the organization who will be doing the actual ground disturbance (excavation) and will contain a reference to the original Planning and Design request number. A new Locate Request number will be assigned.

Changes to the Outbound Ticket

The outbound ticket form will include a new option in the Ticket Status field called “Promote”. The outbound ticket form will contain the original Planning and Design ticket number in the Previous Ticket field.

Testing

If you would like a sample of the new Promote Ticket Status as it appears on the outbound form please email info@beforeyoudigpartners.com with the subject line Test Promote. Provide the email or FTP address you would like the sample ticket sent to.

Timeline

Unless member testing identifies parsing issues with the new ticket type, we expect to release the new feature by the week of June 28, 2021. Please submit your testing requests prior to June 21st.
