This year’s theme is “People, Purpose, Presence” and BC 1 Call is proud to participate alongside many BC municipalities, other safety organizations, and industry associations.

Here are some events taking place across the province:

  • The Province of British Columbia has issued a proclamation declaring May 18-24 will be “Public Works Week” in BC.
  • The City of Port Coquitlam is holding an open house featuring a heavy equipment showcase and hands-on displays on May 24 at its Public Works Yard. More information is available here.
  • The City of Penticton is holding its open house on May 22 at the City Yards and will feature electrical truck bucket rides alongside interactive displays.
  • The City of Richmond held a public works open house on May 10 and is highlighting the department’s work in a new interactive video as part of its celebration of National Public Works Week.
  • The City of Nanaimo  has released a proclamation recognizing National Public Works Week which you can read here.
  • The City of Terrace  has released a thank you post for #NPWW highlighting the extensive scope of its public works department.
  • City of Courtenay will hold a public open house and school tours on May 24 and has released a proclamation marking the week
  • The City of Dawson Creek has released a proclamation supporting Public Works Week.
