BC 1 Call was at the BC Water and Waste Association (BCWWA) conference in Victoria, B.C. on the last weekend of April! BC 1 Call president Doona Grant was there in person and we were both a Coffee Break Sponsor and manned a table at the trade show, furthering the #ClickBeforeYouDig message for the underground infrastructure community.
Here are some of the conference highlights:
- A keynote by educator, social entrepreneur and adventurer Geoff Green who has made more than 120 expeditions to the polar regions and other remote corders of the world
- An information-packed education session with PWABC award-winner Shawna Drinnan, Water Resources Specialist with the City of Nanaimo, and Mitchell Brook, Project Manager at Koers & Associates Engineering Ltd., who detailed the renewal that followed a devastating water main break during the height of Covid
- Networking with Pat Miller, Executive Director of Public Works Association of BC and member of the BC 1 Call Board of Directors
- Networking with Randy Gatz of LineStar Utility Supply, Robert Haller, Executive Director of Canadian Water and Wastewater Association, Adam Mercer of Radiodetection Ltd, and Paul Zimmerman of EECOL Electric, Samira Harris, Project Manager with Kiewit and Michael Zucchelli, President of Cesco Electrical Supply Ltd.
