Please note: Improvements to BC 1 Call locate request software are planned to launch in February 2026.
Upcoming improvements include a new feature: Multi-Dig-Site Mapping. Excavators will have the option to draw up to ten individual ground disturbance locations on a single locate request ticket.
How It Works
Tickets will continue to follow the current minimum and maximum allowable sizes for each ticket type. Project tickets, Large Project tickets, and Planning & Design tickets can include up to 10 individual ground disturbance locations within that ticket type’s allowable size.

For example, all ground disturbance locations on a Project ticket in an urban area must be inside an area of at least 1,000 square metres and cannot exceed a total area of 60,000 square metres.
When submitting a locate request, start by drawing your first ground disturbance location on the map. This location is tagged as #1 and the size of the drawn area is listed beside the map. Next, draw your second ground disturbance location. This location is tagged as #2 and the size is added beside the map. Continue until all locations (up to 10) are indicated on the map.
Each individual ground disturbance location must be a minimum of 10 square metres.
The Total Area covered by all ground disturbance locations must adhere to the size restrictions for that ticket type. While you are drawing your locations, the Total Area is indicated in blue so you know when you are approaching the maximum allowable size.

In this example, all four ground disturbance locations cover a total area of 6,259 square metres, which falls within the parameters of a Project ticket.
Note: The blue area on the map is a reference tool, used when submitting a locate request. It is not transmitted on the outbound ticket.
